Chopsticks

Chopsticks play an important role in Chinese food culture. Chopsticks are called "Kuaizi" in Chinese and were called "Zhu" in ancient times. Chinese people have been using kuaizi as one of the main tableware for more than 3,000 years.

It was recorded in Liji (The Book of Rites) that chopsticks were used in the Shang Dynasty (1600 BC - 1100 BC). It was mentioned in Shiji (the Chinese history book) by Sima Qian (about 145 BC) that Zhou, the last king of Shang Dynasty (around 1100 BC), used ivory chopsticks. Experts believe the history of wood of bamboo chopsticks can be dated to about 1,000 years earlier than ivory chopsticks. Bronze chopsticks were invented in the Western Zhou Dynasty (1100 BC - 771 BC). Lacquer chopsticks from the Western Han (206 BC - 24 AD) were discovered in Mawanghui, China. Gold and silver chopsticks became popular in the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). It was believed that silver chopsticks could detect poisons in food.

Usage
Held between the thumb and fingers of the right hand they are used as tongs to take up portions of the food, which is brought to the table cut up into small and convenient pieces, or as means for sweeping the rice and small particles of food into the mouth from the bowl, Many rules of etiquette govern the proper conduct of the chopsticks.

Chopsticks are traditionally held in the right hand only, even by the left-handed, (In Muslim nations, the left hand is used in the toilet the right hand used for eating.) In modern times, biases against left-handed eating are becoming less severe, and so chopsticks might be held with either hand.

Bowl

Ancient people love to play with mud and made them into different shapes.

One day, a smart man was playing with mud. While playing with it, he made them into shapes of bowls. Due to mud are very soft, those bowls get destroyed easily. He threw them aside after making a few of it. Till one coincident day, the whole place was on fire. Those bowls that he had thrown aside turns very hard after a temperture of heat.

When this man came back to clear this mess, he was shock to see the bowls had turned hard. He tried using the bowls to scope water and found not a single water drip out. He was so happy and gather a lot of people to see. That's when they start and learn the method of making bowls.
